The last first day of classes
Well, sort of. I had one class last night, and two today. But one class doesn't meet until next Tuesday, and the other one doesn't start until the 22nd because of the holiday next Monday. I'm still trying to decide whether to drop a class: I have 15 units, which seems like a lot for 3rd year. I'm taking Family Law, Elder Law, Antitrust, Pretrial Litigation, and Separation of Powers. Plus a 1-week Supreme court seminar, and Law Review.
The Pretrial Lit class seems like it will be a lot of work, but also kind of fun. THere are two classes, so each class is one law firm on one side of the case. The premise is that the professor is the Partner, and the students are the associates who do all the work, from filing a complaint, through a motion for summary judgment, and ending with a settlement conference. I think if we really embrace it as "real" we can get a lot out of it and have some fun along the way. So we'll see.
