Wait, where am I?

What is it about being called on in class that causes the brain to just shut down? I thought we were all supposed to get over this by second year, but not all of us have. What's really excruciating is when a professor sticks with someone even though they are clearly not "playing along" with the hypothetical. I'm looking at you, Professor Estates and hapless classmate.
