New car!
Well, after much shopping, etc., I bought this one: Mazda3 i sport in "sunlight silver." It is so cute, and fun to drive, and definitely within my budget. I did get the 2008 model. I figured since the last car I bought was the 95 Escort, when it was new, I could buy another new car. Brian, you weren't the only one who recommended this car, and you are so right!

SWEET! 4 door is still good. Just don't let taller guys in the back seat, but 5'9" or less is fine.
You will LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that car. I test drove one 18 months ago. The 3 handles so well I thought it was telepathic because I could will it where I wanted to go. I wish I could have bought it but now I can live through you ;-)
I already love it - and I agree about the telepathic handling - it's effortless! The back seat isn't very roomy, but the front is nice, and I'm short so there's lots of headroom. :-)
